Suggested update
[edit]Information provided here is largely irrelevant, incorrect and outdated.
I drafted this and feel it provides a much greater insight than what is currently present for the film:
PHANTASMAGORIA: The Visions Of Lewis Carroll
PHANTASMAGORIA is a film by Marilyn Manson with Anthonty Silva and Geoff Cox and is directed by Marilyn Manson. It is been produced by Blue Light for Wild Bunch and has a budget of $4.2m.
The script for the film has been complete as of December 2005 and shooting was scheduled to begin in January 2005. At a press conference for the film Manson (who will be playing Carroll) and Lily Cole (who will be playing Alice) showed a five-minute trailer to around sixty journalists which was generally well-received. In addition to this a sypnosis given to journalists present at the event read:
Victorian England.
A haunted writer in an isolated castle is tormented by sleepless nights and visions of a girl named Alice. He finds himself becoming a symptom of his own invention.
“Now all my nightmares know my name.”
He is Lewis Carroll. Terrified of what waits for him each night.
Though initially planned for distribution through his website Manson now plans for a conventional cinema release in mid-2007 alongside a soundtrack drawing upon original music for the film and previously unreleased songs that ‘didn’t fit elsewhere’ with the film scheduled to be completed in fall 2006.
Manson has stated his aim for the project is to ‘redefine the horror genre’ and bring it back to the days of ‘Polanski and Hitchcock’. He is also been linked with other projects such as Alexander Jodowrsky’s King Shot and an as yet untitled film with Tilda Swinton.
Manson stated in June 2006 that he sees himself ‘as more a student of film than of music’ and after Phantasmagoria is planning a trifecta of films retelling three Edgar Allen Poe stories.
- Thanks for that its a definite improvement (Emperor 17:02, 25 July 2006 (UTC))
- Actually checking back some anonymous editor removed a perfectly good version and put that inferior one in - I've reverted to before that and if there is anything that you still feel needs to go in then go for it but we would just be replicating our efforts. Also this needs moving again (as I think I've reverted past the redirect) but see below for a possible better move (Emperor 17:10, 25 July 2006 (UTC))
Caps?
[edit]I can't really see why the title is in caps. Its not like that on the IMDB entry or any other mentions I have seen except one of the references where the capitalisation is part of the sites' specific formatting rules. (Emperor 17:02, 25 July 2006 (UTC))
Cast
[edit]Where did the cast information come from? The link it supposedly came from is dead. I have found this [1] which confirms most of the cast but for Living Neon Dreams rather than Phantasmagoria. The only person I can't find were they were mentioned is Tim Roth. Any ideas? --Jimmyjrg 07:41, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Inaccurate Quotes/Citations
[edit]None of the quotes are at the cited page, and as for one, I don't believe 'unique' is misspelled. I'm just removing the [sic] for now, but does anyone have any better sources for the quotes?
Anakalypsis 05:43, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- The Unique part isn't about spelling -- it's about grammar. Something can't be very unique. It either is or it is not unique.
No, that's your opinion, and it's ridiculous. I've changed it. --YellowTapedR (talk) 08:22, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Plot
[edit]What is the plot, and there should be a plot section on the article just making a suggestion, not trying to sound bossy or mean. -- Metal 19:43, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
Nobody knows what the plot is. Celebritarian138 21:00, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Official Website
[edit]A link is there but... how do you even access it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.106.221.56 (talk) 22:54, 30 January 2007 (UTC).
- Since the link no longer works, I have removed it.Donniedarkofan2006 (talk) 17:40, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Site is a parked domain, so I removed it... again, apparently. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.211.142 (talk) 02:04, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Removed again. Will continue to do this each time I see it there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.211.142 (talk) 00:26, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Score
[edit]Is M.W. Gacy still expected to contribute to the score? - MSTCrow 20:46, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
I don't believe so, Manson and Gacy/Pogo had a lawsuit, and he has since left the band, I don't think he will contribute anything to the film, much like Evan Rachel Wood. I think this page either needs to be reincarnated/recreated with more facts and citation or deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Quantrumbladum (talk • contribs) 23:12, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Evan Rachel Wood appearing....
[edit]Isn't that just a rumor?xpoisonedxlovex —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.212.135.145 (talk) 22:28, August 29, 2007 (UTC)
- It is. Maybe it should be said "It is rumoured that Evan Rachel Wood will be appearing in the film, although this has not been confirmed." And reference it to the IMDb Messageboards where these rumours gather? Would make sense. :D --Donniedarkofan2006 04:01, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
This should be fixed, she's not going to appear, Evan's page should be update, they broke up, didn't they, I read that in an interview with Revolver, Manson said he called her 150 or more time, and she didn't answer and that he wants to crush her head with a hammer. This might implicate that they are separated now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Quantrumbladum (talk • contribs) 23:06, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Wait a minute...
[edit]Erm...It says that the writer of the movie is Lewis Carol. I may be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure that's not right...I think maybe the writer is Marilyn Manson but I dunno.

The original poem 'Phantasmagoria' was written by Lewis Carol. Maybe it should say 'Adapted from the poem by Lewis Carol'? Or maybe it should just say 'Written by Marilyn Manson' and then have 'Adapted from the poem by Lewis Carol' in the opening credits or something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.68.159.226 (talk) 00:46, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Dr.Steel
[edit]Will Dr.Phineas Waldolf Steel ceo of World Domination Toys (www.WorldDominationToys.com, www.DoctorSteel.com) be involved in this movie? I heard rumours that he will apear as the mad hatter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.2.70.169 (talk) 11:18, 20 January 2009 (UTC) Marilyn Mansons daughter Leo Manson artist name "The Woman Inside" will appear www.the-woman-inside.com
