[edit]Regarding the speedy deletion notices, this is my first wikipedia entry, and i would like to have some time to complete the entry before having the speedy deletion considered. There are a number of other similar wikipedia entries on contemporary american composers. When the article is done it's validity will hopefully be apparent. Please Google for 'Peter Traub' or 'Peter M Traub' to get a better idea of the scope of the composer's work. Thank you. 0r4ngecrush (talk) 18:29, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. Articles on Wikipedia need to meet certain criteria. Biographical articles must assert the encyclopedic significance of their subjects. You can read what constitutes encyclopedic significance for a musician at the guidelines for notability on musical articles and for biographies in general at the guidelines for notability on biographies. All articles are expected to verify their assertions with reliable secondary sources distinct from their subject. They must also be written from a neutral perspective and without personal observation or reliance on unpublished facts. When it comes to a biography of a living person, they must also be written conservatively, with respect for the individual's privacy and particular care for the integrity of sourcing. If this individual meets the notability guidelines, please ensure that the article about him is written within policy. Your {{hangon}} tag may not prevent the article's being deleted before you have finished work, so I am duplicating this note at your talk page. If the article is deleted, you may recreate it as long as you can bring it in line with policy. As one final note, it is generally helpful to tag articles that are in process with {{underconstruction}} or {{inuse}}, to let other editors know that you are not finished with them. Even in such cases, however, it is a very good idea to get the individual's notability established immediately and prominently placed in the article's lead paragraph. Good luck. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:15, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- No worries removing the DB Tag. Looks like you've done a lot to establish the notability beyond what it was when I first tagged it. Cheers! Bagheera (talk) 00:53, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
