Requested move 27 August 2019
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Moved to Peter Shaw (producer, born 1918) and Peter Shaw (producer, born 1942) (non-admin closure) Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:33, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
- Peter Shaw (producer) → Peter Shaw?
- Peter Shaw (British producer) → ?
- Peter Shaw → Peter Shaw (disambiguation)?
– Both men are producers, both are British. Peter Shaw (producer, born 1918) and Peter Shaw (producer, born 1942) would be the obvious solution (adding British or English wouldn't be helpful), but the older man also had an acting career and pageview stats make a compelling case for him being the primary topic for this name, so it won't hurt to have a discussion in case anyone has any other ideas. PC78 (talk) 09:42, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- Support Prefer third option of personal preference and Wikipedia practice, but the first two options are good if they're the only two Peter Shaws, a soft redirect atop each page could be added. Doug Mehus (talk) 13:36, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- Support Peter Shaw (producer) → Peter Shaw (producer, born 1918) and Peter Shaw (British producer) → Peter Shaw (producer, born 1942), which should rectify the current incomplete disambiguation. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 15:21, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- Support Peter Shaw (producer) → Peter Shaw (producer, born 1918) and Peter Shaw (British producer) → Peter Shaw (producer, born 1942), which should solve the problem completely. -- Just N. (talk) 18:10, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
- No thoughts about making the older man the primary topic for this name? He does get a 96% share of the pageviews. PC78 (talk) 23:08, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
