How did he "retire from the sport at the age of 35" when he was 35 in 1971, and playing for Middlesex and England in 1972?
It is correct. He was born on 8 December 1936, so he turned 35 on 8 December 1971. He played the 1972 season, and in the source it says he was then offered the winter tour of India but declined and at that point retired. Presumably, this was around September or October 1972, and he didn’t turn 36 until 8 December. Dubmill (talk) 11:06, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
