[edit]You've got a day to back up your claim about Cuts You Up before I take it down. It is highly elitist, subjective, NPOV, and without elaboration or citation.Amber388 11:44, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
Speaking of NPOV, that whole opening bit about bauhaus is in need of a good cleaning - it's awfully florid. The bits about his early career seem a bit that way too. --Nulldevice 20:46, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Peter Murphy and Islam
[edit]Read this article and just struck me: It seems a bit far-fetched to say he converted to Islam just because he married a Turkish lady. Not to be further mired in stereotypes, but for Allah-the-mighty's sake, she is leading a modern dance company, so I would presume she's not "muslim" in the way that the article would conjure images of.
Yes, we delve into religion for artistic purposes, love its dichotomies, dictums, and metaphors, but that does not make us into converts in a traditional sense. Not that it matters, but I just felt like mentioning this because of the possible facile equation between "Islam," a go-to-church-five-times-a-day religion to be converted into, and something vaguely Turkish. Murphy set to cameo in "New Moon"
[edit]As much as I hate to say it, it seems Peter Murphy is set to make a cameo in the Twilight movie sequel "New Moon". The source is here: http://blog.limewire.com/posts/29943-peter-murphy-to-cameo-in-next-twilight-movie/ GeneticInsanity (talk) 17:36, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
Out of date info
[edit]"On a blog posted on myspace, Murphy announced he is at work on a new studio album to be released in 2009" - clearly needs updating - does anyone have anything up to date on him? ~dom Kaos~ (talk) 20:40, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Guest on "radio show"
[edit]The last sentence of the section "With Bauhaus" states that "Trent Reznor and Murphy were guests on several radio shows together, often performing three to four duets per radio show."
Reznor and Murphy were not guests on "radio shows," they were guests of and performed together with the band "TV on the Radio" at several of the band's shows in 2006. If you search you tube for Peter Murphy and Trent Reznor you will find a number of video clips from the sound checks to these shows.
- Don't understand the above poster's point. Yes they did both perform with TV on the Radio at these shows. However they also guested on and performed together for radio appearances around the same time. Also the shows you are referring to were Nine Inch Nails shows, at which Bauhaus and TV on the Radio were both support acts.80.195.252.5 (talk) 16:48, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit]I am not an expert on the music of the guy, but I noticed something.. It says here that Unshattered is Murphy's seventh solo studio album. And Ninth is (obviously) his ninth. So my question would be: where and what is number eight?

No mention of crystal meth arrest?
[edit]Just wondering why there is no mention of Murphy's arrest for a hit and run and crystal meth possession? http://www.nme.com/news/music/bauhaus-1241716 http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/bauhaus-peter-murphy-arrested-for-hit-and-run-dui-20130319 Should this not be included somewhere on the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.31.40.75 (talk) 07:24, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Popular Culture and Miscellaneous
[edit]The two entries in this section referencing Jewel and John McGeoch are actually more about those two recording artists than they are about Peter Murphy's contributions to popular culture. We could actually lose them, without it damaging the article. Nuttyskin (talk) 22:13, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
- Agreed. I've been touching up this page today and was puzzled when I came across those pieces of trivia. I think I will remove the info and possibly find a place to include it on Jewel's and McGeoch's pages.—The Keymaster (talk) 05:41, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
