Factual accuracy
[edit]There is no indication that the character Evans plays in the X-Men films is the same character as the one he plays in WandaVision.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 13:41, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- Update: I tried to clear this up by separating the appearances. Some help would be appreciated to expand the MCU section. It maybe best to send this article to draft space, while this is sorted out.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 14:33, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- This article is too early for the mainspace as we don't know everything in regards to Evan Peter's WandaVision character called "Pietro Maximoff". Saying they are the same in this article as "Peter Maximoff" is misleading. It should be moved back, and we should wait until WandaVision concludes to see what to do with both versions of the character. Trailblazer101 (talk) 15:21, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- There is more than enough coverage of the character in the X-Men films alone to justify having the article in mainspace. If you want to remove everything MCU-related, go ahead. The entirety of the content regarding the special effects used and the critical response to the character relates to the X-Men films appearances. BD2412 T 18:13, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, the X-Men films content can stay. The MCU stuff should be removed and shouldn't have been added in the first place as a mainspace article. Trailblazer101 (talk) 18:16, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- There are sources available that discuss the possibility that this is the route through which the X-Men characters will be brought into the MCU. BD2412 T 18:19, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- We'll have to wait and see on that, as those are currently speculation based on what we know from the producers involved in WandaVision on the character and "recasting". Trailblazer101 (talk) 18:31, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, it's speculation, but it's reliably sourced speculation. I think it's a mistake not to mention WandaVision at all. We can at least say that the use of the same actor in that series has led to speculation as to whether this is really the X-Men universe character being brought into the MCU through some sort of multiverse operation. BD2412 T 19:13, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- I agree that the reliably-sourced speculation is warranted. It is permissible through WP:CRYSTAL. Wikipedia is dynamic and can be updated to mention the ultimate outcome following the speculation. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 20:00, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- Agreed with all this, but still think we can add "See also" to Pietro Maximoff (Marvel Cinematic Universe). IKhitron (talk) 20:03, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- I see the policy was changed, but we still must be careful not to present speculation as fact. Careful consideration and proper attribution must be made when presenting speculation.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:24, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- It has been pointed out in sources that Disney's audio description for the WandaVision scene in which the Evan Peters character first appears says, "Wanda stares at the version of Pietro from the X-Men films". This is not external speculation, but the intellectual property owner's own description of this character as being the one "from the X-Men films". BD2412 T 00:04, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Please see this discussion on the WandaVision talk about that. Trailblazer101 (talk) 00:56, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- That is a very unresolved discussion. Again, it is a mistake to say nothing about this in this article, when it is at least being discussed by sources. BD2412 T 01:15, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- There's only 3 episodes left, I don't see the harm in waiting. Sources are also speculating that Peters is Mephisto. I don't think it is appropriate or beneficial to readers to include every theory even if they are being discussed by sources. This isn't a fan site and something so sort lived doesn't seem very encyclopedic.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 13:09, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

- How about something really simple and descriptive, along the lines of: "Evan Peters has also appeared in the MCU television series WandaVision portraying a version of Pietro Maximoff, and exhibiting the character's super-speed. It is unclear whether this version of the character is connected to the one appearing in the X-Men film series". BD2412 T 16:47, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- That's more appropriate for Evan Peters' page than here, but it is appropriate to discuss, in my opinion, Peters appearing as "Pietro" at the MCU section. As others have said, there are three episodes of the series left, so any info should be held off until then to add to this article, if at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Favre1fan93 (talk • contribs)
- I suppose that, given the fact that there was no article on this character at all until this week, WP:DEADLINE applies. BD2412 T 18:42, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Quicksilver in Deadpool & Wolverine
[edit]Instead of edit warring this, I figured I'd open a topic here. Deadpool & Wolverine has the following line:
"Every time one of us is going up against her, they die. The Punisher, Quicksilver, Daredevil."
To me, there is no reason to believe that this refers to the Peter from the Fox universe, as the line isn't said by someone from the Fox universe, and Fox Peter has never been referred to as Quicksilver on-screen, from what I can tell. This could be a Quicksilver from any universe, and there's nothing to suggest that it's this Peter. To me, it seems safe to delete the "Later life" section on this page, but @Profavi1 doesn't seem to agree. Aspharon (talk) 12:19, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
- Agreed, no confirmation that this is the same character. Removed. InfiniteNexus (talk) 04:23, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
