Role as actor and director.
[edit]This article seems to over-inflate Goer's role as an actor and director, or at least not distinguish between professional and amateur roles. This relates primarily to the first sentence introduction, and also career section stating "Goers worked in the theatre in Adelaide as an actor, director, designer, playwright for most Adelaide theatre companies".
To say that he has worked for "most" theatre companies in South Australia is completely un-substantiated - (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Performing_arts_in_Adelaide and https://arts.sa.gov.au/views/organisation-directory?page=4 for many many companies Goers has not worked for).
I don't doubt his overall notability as a media commentator, but to introduce him primarily as an actor and director would imply that he has worked for a significant time, in notable roles, have demonstrated particuar talent or critical feedback, might include significant tours or that he has worked with professional companies or on interstate, national or international accomplishments. None of these things seem to be true.
The most comprehensive (although not always complete) database of theatre productions in Australia, AusStage, shows a range of project he has been involved in, however they are almost all amateur or student based... (see https://www.ausstage.edu.au/pages/contributor/798# - can be sorted by organisational association one of the tabs) From the 50 events associated with his name on that database, the main four companies he has been involved with are: 20 credits with amateur+student based organisation University Theatre Guild, 9 credits with amateur company Jimmy Zoole Presents, 4 credits with amateur Adelaide Repertory Theatre Inc, and 4 credits with Amateur company Q Theatre Company. From the AusStage database there looks to be only two professional productions he has been involved in at all - both were with State Opera of SA one as an Assistant Director and one as a 'performer' (for some reason listed differently to the "actors" in the production).
Is this not a misrepresentation, that the article introduces him "a South Australian actor, director" but he seems to not actually worked in South Australia as a director or actor, aside from amateur and student based projects? Maybe suggested change of intro to "Peter Goers OAM is a former South Australian theatre and movie reviewer, and current host of the radio program The Evening Show..." or "Peter Goers OAM is a theatre enthusiast and current host of the radio program The Evening Show..." . Also suggested change of "most Adelaide theatre companies"(in career section) to "many Adelaide amateur theatre companies" and remove "designer" and "playwright" as there are no sources to provide evidence for that. Feedback welcome.

- I agree. I removed actor and director from lead sentence, as it is not what he is notable for. Adpete (talk) 02:14, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
