Cleaning up and protection

Article has been under some unstoppable fire recently... Recommend that the sections be cleansed with the utilisation of a fine toothed comb. I cannot revert this article again for another 24 hours... Shame, really. Hope you can help. ScarianTalk 18:08, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

The 6X.X IP range is not a very good writer and they do not have any understanding of Wiki policy or guidelines. A concentrated effort will help to maintain some integrity for the article. RV'ing vandalism(which includes deleting maintenance tags) is not a vio of 3RR. So if any editor deletes tags without addressing the reason for the tagging in the first place.... rv it. 156.34.142.110 18:17, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Got it, thanks, wasn't clear on that. ScarianTalk 18:20, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

I added 18 REF's this evening. The article needs to be checked over, I want to work on it more, it is TOO choopy. But, the additional REF's should be a good starting point to work with. (reply here only, not on IP talk page.) 207.69.139.144 07:54, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:PeterFramptonaltmusicru.png

Image:PeterFramptonaltmusicru.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image

Could someone provide an image of him? It's unusual that, considering his fame, there is no picture on this page. 76.126.15.78 (talk) 18:14, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Not really odd that there isn't a picture, the more famous somone is the harder it is to get an image up there because of wikipedia's copyright and image laws. The article for the Beach Boys doesn't have a picture. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 05:49, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
  • What about the full-legnth artwork shown on the "Frampton Comes Alive" page? It's already on wikipedia and it is a picture (or is it some kind of color sketch?) of him. I'd think it would be better than nothing. EmilyELewis (talk) 18:36, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Audio

It seams to me that Frampton has quit a distinct sound, this article should have an audio file of one of his notable songs to depict the use of the talkbox. Snowfreak91287 (talk) 06:14, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Clearing up awkward phrasing

"Teaching himself to play, he became near-obsessed, and upon receiving a guitar and piano, from his parents, taught himself those instruments as well. At age eight he got a guitar and started taking classical music lessons.[2][7]" The guitar is mentioned twice, making the phrasing awkward. I don't know Frampton's history, so somebody who does might want to rephrase this keeping it consistent with the facts and proper structure.23:41, 30 March 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.218.160.216 (talk)

The gap in the 'Career' section....

There is a margin of empty space under the 'Career' section above the first paragraph that kind of makes this article look a bit awkward; if anyone knows how to fix it, it should be done. --24.6.249.113 (talk) 17:52, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

"You Had to Be There"

The song "You Had to Be There" that's on his live DVD, does it appear on an album? I've heard it on my local classic rock station, but the version I've heard is studio, not live. Any ideas??? Crash Underride 03:31, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Drummer?

Can anyone tell me who Frampton's current drummer is? This, as well as past and present band line-ups, would make a nice addition to this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.36.81.18 (talk) 05:07, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

"English born naturalized American musician"?

I can't help feeling that this description is rather misleading; although his recent American citizenship is a relevant part of his biography, it is covered later in the article, but to describe him as an American musician in the opening paragraph seems a little contrived. —Christine (blathercontribs) 13:56, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

It appears that WP:Nationality suggests that this recent change to the opening paragraph (it used to simply describe him as an "English musician") is inappropriate so it should probably be changed back.
In most modern-day cases this will mean the country of which the person is a citizen, national or permanent resident, or if notable mainly for past events, the country where the person was a citizen, national or permanent resident when the person became notable.
... but I'm reluctant to get involved with editing again so I'll leave it to someone else to address as they see fit. —Christine (blathercontribs) 04:05, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Earnings

Years ago, I read that Frampton lost the money he made from Frampton Comes Alive in the stock market crash. 22yearswothanks (talk) 17:58, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Year of birth for Peter Frampton?

I really do not know if Peter Frampton born in 1946 or 1947 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.206.162.91 (talk) 14:00, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Unsourced Statement in Introduction

"In 2014 October 29th was officially designated "Peter Frampton Day" worldwide in honor of his many contributions to music."

Not sourced at all. Designated by who, why? A Google search reveals nothing as such stated. Recommend deletion of this statement unless sources can be provided. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.119.160.233 (talk) 00:32, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

Line that doesn't fit under setbacks

The sentence that mentions Frampton receiving a Hollywood Walk of Fame star is currently in the middle of the "setbacks" section. Not sure where it should be moved to, but "setbacks" seems like the complete opposite of where it should be. ChallahuAkbar (talk) 04:39, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
