Name

Why do we use a Serbian name for a Hungarian noble and general? He came from the Dóczy de Nagylucse family which had a serious role during the reign of Matthias Corvinus (for example Orbán Dóczy served as Bishop of Eger between 1486 and 1491). Petar Doci is only used in Serbian-related works. Of course, a redirect is justifiable but, in my opinion, the article should be rename to Peter Dóczy. --Norden1990 (talk) 10:37, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article title depends on name commonly used in English language sources, not on ethnicity. There are three sources on English language for Petar Doci version and two for Peter Doczy. Taking in consideration that Babinger is using Doczy I don't mind renaming the article to Doczy. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 11:16, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think 3 and 2 results mean that there is a commonly accepted English name version? These small numbers imply the opposite of this claim. However, that I have said, Dóczy was a Hungarian baron from a Hungarian noble family who held an office of Hungarian dignity (Ban of Jajce, Captain of Belgrade) and appointed by Matthias, the Hungarian king. --Norden1990 (talk) 11:22, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think Peter Dóczy. Babinger also uses with 'ó' in the index (p. 524) [1]. The book in the main text does not apply the Hungarian accents. See, for example, Báthory - Bathory [2]. Peter (and not Péter) because of the standardization on Medieval Hungarian people (Nicholas Szécsi, John Hunyadi, Michael Szilágyi). --Norden1990 (talk) 14:14, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
