Peter Bayliss and Peter Baylis

I'm really confused about the relationship between Peter Bayliss and Peter Baylis. Note that the latter has half a dozen "What links here" entries. I've seen some suggestions that it's two variants of the name of the same person, but other suggestions that it's two different people. Has anyone got any reliable information on this?
