I think that this section may have problems with both POV and OR. What is "high-profile"? How "high" does the profile have to be? Should we have a list of everyone convicted of this offence or no list at all? James500 (talk) 17:16, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Good question! How does one define "high-profile"? I think that any case that was "high-profile" ought to be notable enough to have a Wikipedia article about the case, where the primary or a prominent feature of the case involved this offence. i.e. The case is notable because of the offence itself. The case would need to involve more than just being charged with the offence, among other offences, and should demonstrate that some aspect of the offence materially affecting the way the case is treated in the justice system. I would see the purpose of the list as providing links to Wikipedia articles that provide real world examples of how the offence manifests itself in various cases. The listed cases should be selected and curated to demonstrate an evolution of the case over time from its evolution in common law in previous centuries, through codification in various jurisdictions and how the offence manifests now in various jurisdictions around the world. I'm thinking of a list that might be a couple of dozen cases long, especially ones that set a legal precedent about aspects of the offence. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 12:22, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
