AFTRA

[edit]

Likeness rights are a significant sticking point in the ongoing AFTRA contract disputes. Could some kind of explanation be added to this article? There is plenty of sourcing but I don't understand much of it. It is basically about the studios wanting to use actor likenesses in deepfake videos though. 2601:644:8501:AAF0:0:0:0:6375 (talk) 22:23, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The "People's Republic of China" section should be referring to "Civil Code of the People's Republic of China" instead. The "General Principles of Civil Law of the People's Republic of China" was repealed by the Civil Code. Article 1023 of the civil code also grants the same protection for voice as likeness. 174.216.209.94 (talk) 19:26, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pending - Waiting for a source. If I find one myself, I'll do it. @174.216.209.94: If you've got a source (especially an English-speaking one) referring to this, that would be sufficient for us to make the change. The current source listed there goes to a 404 page unfortunately. Komonzia (talk) 02:58, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
