Conclusions
[edit]Wikipedia articles are not a place to draw conclusions. A conclusion implies that the writer is trying to make a point, and persuade the reader to a non-neutral point of view. Conclusions, by there very nature are either plagiarized or original research. I am giving the author the benefit of the doubt and am going to go with Original Research. Even if these things are not blatant, it points to a poorly formed article, where a summery should be at the top, not the bottom. --24.177.187.131 (talk) 02:58, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
My impression is that the article has a distinctly "anti-PWC" attitude, and probably should be re written. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rickbrent (talk • contribs) 00:46, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with both of the aforementioned points, as this article is clearly using Wikipedia to assert an opinion; it also needs to be edited in relation to grammar, sentence structure etc. I have embarked on the first couple of sections but it really needs someone else to continue with it. I may come back to it if I have time. --Soulparadox 06:43, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Rental operators
[edit]The report may show "significantly higher association with [sic] accidents for rental operators (nearly 25 percent) than is the case for the general boating population". However this cannot be "related to the higher percentage of rental operators"". A higher relative number of accidents per 1,000 rental jet skis compared with owner operators suggests two things - more frequent use (likely to be much more frequent for rental rather than privately owned jet skis, and that the majority of users will be first time users. This has nothing to do with the number of rental operators.Royalcourtier (talk) 09:16, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
State or federal patrol
[edit]The article states that "All boating accidents in the United States either occur on state- or federally-patrolled waters." Not only is this unreferenced, but it seems to me that it is almost certainly false. What about privately owned ponds and swimming pools? People do use personal watercraft, which fall within the scope of this article, in swimming pools.Bill (talk) 07:09, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
