rm: "declaration" box
This is garish and unencyclopedic. Boxes are for highlighting important quotes and bulleted lists and the like, not (poorly rendered) representations of documents. This translation belongs on the image page of a scan of one of these documents, if anybody has one. im saving it here in case one emerges. --PopeFauveXXIII 08:21, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

- Fair enough - I think we probably edited over each other. Your marking it as a minor change was the thing that most intrigued me and forced me to revert in the first instance. Cheers!--VS talk 08:48, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- problem solved, i found an image of the document online and converted it to a jpg so it qualifies as PD-Nazi. --PopeFauveXXIII 08:55, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Weasel words
I found some weasel wording in this article. For instance, consider this: "The savagery of the attackers in Malawi was such that thousands of Witnesses of all ages and both sexes were physically brutalized by police and citizens alike." Admiral Norton 20:46, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Malawi
The statement: "The savagery of the attackers in Malawi was such that thousands of Witnesses of all ages and both sexes were physically brutalized by police and citizens alike." Most of the sentence is redundant. After removing the redundant parts, what remains is "Thousands of Witnesses in Malawi were physically brutalized by police and citizens." The section should be expanded or deleted.--Jeffro77 (talk) 08:08, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Persecution of/by Christians
Some of the material on this article, as well as some that was previously removed, should probably be at Persecution of Christians#Persecution of Christians by Christians. Specifically, the anti-Catholic sentiments expressed by JWs, particularly early in their history, as well as actions taken by Catholics against JWs, such as mob violence during bans etc.
persecution in Germany
They were not scorned by the name Ernste Bibelforscher. At that time they were officially called Bible Students.--Dvd-junkie (talk) 14:45, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
External links/additional reading
Please do not overwhelm these sections with information about Nazi Germany. This article is about persecution of JWs in general, not a catchall for articles about Nazi persecution in particular. Perhaps one or two entries about Nazi persecution are suitable at this article. Please add other notable articles about Nazi persecution of JWs at Persecution of Jehovah's Witnesses in Nazi Germany.--Jeffro77 (talk) 10:06, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Date of Activity in Russia
The article appears to be factually inaccurate in describing JW's as unknown in the Soviet Union prior to 1939. The Witnesses cite a Russian JW as active in 1891 and deported to Siberia in 1892 where he continued active until 1935. This would seem to imply that Russian JW's predate the Soviet Union considerably. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.212.253.129 (talk) 13:04, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
- There were no JWs in Siberia or anywhere else in 1891. JWs were an offshoot of the Bible Student movement and there was no group called 'Jehovah's Witnesses' prior to 1931. Semyon Kozlitsky, the individual cited in JW literature as suggested above, was apparently a 'JW' when he died in 1935, but he could not have been known as such in 1891.
- Of course, that still suggests the presence of JWs in Russia prior to 1939, so perhaps the article should be rephrased to reflect that the minor presence of JWs in the Soviet Union was unknown to the government prior to 1939.--Jeffro77 (talk) 17:06, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Ken Jubber Quote
This comment seems unbefitting as it is only expressing an author's viewpoint, not a matter of fact, and therefore could be taken out of context. Actually, as I was reading the article it seems out of context to begin with. It seems possible that it may have been inserted due to religious bias and is otherwise unnecessary given the statistical citation following the quote. I'm nominating it for removal. The only reason I'm not removing it before posting on the discussion page is due to the fact that the statistical citation does to appear to balance the quote. However, that is also the reason that it seems unnecessary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.164.2.151 (talk) 14:46, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
- I tend to agree. Ken Jubber does not appear to be a particularly notable source, and certainly not so notable as to warrant his statement in the lead. In any case, as you say, the balancing statistic would tend to invalidate his point.--Jeffro77 (talk) 08:32, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Should we add a new section about the UK?
I think potential censorship of JW's publications is relevant here.

- At best, such a change would be premature. WP:CRYSTAL. Additionally, I'm not sure how taking legal action against a group that breaches discrimination laws could be considered 'persecution'.--Jeffro77 (talk) 21:39, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Read this article from JW' official website and consider some of informations incl. book citations there to implicate in this article. A 15-minute exposé of Nazi tyranny remembered 75 years later --FakTNeviM (talk) 14:20, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
