Jeweling
[edit]I suspect that "perlée" is simply the french term for "jeweling". Unfortunately there is nothing about "perlée" or "oeil-de-perdrix" on WP:FR. I'd like to make a case here that while the watch industry may use french vocabulary extensively, the rest of the english-speaking world will usually speak of a "jeweled surface". See for example Glossary_of_firearms_terms#J. Then there is also the article Engine turnings, which sounds to me like a more general technical term (although on its talk page someone also mentions the term "spot-finishing"...). So, although perlée is the nicest article on the subject, I think it should be merged into Engine turnings or an article called Jeweling as a more general term. --BjKa (talk) 12:06, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
