This article needs a clearer explanation at the top, also a link to mendeleev wouldn't be a bad idea. Note that it is possible to subdivide the periods of the periodic table into further subdivisions due to the fact that the successive periods each increase 4 elements over the previous period. Thus whereas in the Janet periodic table the lengths of the successive periods are by number: 1(2), 2(2), 3(8), 4(8), 5(18), 6(18), 7(32), 8(32), for a total of 120; This list can also be shown as follows: 1(2), 2(2), 3(2+4+2), 4(2+4+2), 5(2+4+4+2+4+2), 6(2+4+4+2+4+2), 7(2+4+4+4+2+4+4+2+4+2), 8(2+4+4+4+2+4+4+2+4+2) and that there seems to be a relationship of these periodic subdivision to some of the chemical and magnetic properties of the elements.WFPMWFPM (talk) 05:02, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Merged all period articles but Period 1, which is reasonably well developed. All the rest were stubs and basically useless as separate articles. kwami (talk) 20:24, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
