"Right wing"

[edit]

I have full-protected the page so that Vif12vf and Donnyamyc can settle their differences over whether it's appropriate to call the party "right wing" or not. Please discuss below. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:49, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It is not really a debate about the party's position itself, but Donnyamyc is trying to add a position to the ideology-section. Furthermore, it is a problem that position-parameters dont work in nation-specific party-infoboxes like the one used here. Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 13:59, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I would appreciate if you could remove the position from the ideology-section as positions never belong in ideology-sections, this is something i have tried seemingly unsuccesfully to explain to Donnyamyc who keep insisting this is the way it is done in other articles, which i know is wrong because i have experience in adding ideology, position and other types of info to infoboxes! Since the content under contention doesn't fall under general exceptions such as vandalism, libel or copyright violations, I'm afraid I cannot edit the article as I would be an involved administrator by stating an opinion one way or the other. The general practice when protecting an article is to leave it on whichever version was "live" when the page is locked. If you need an extra opinion to get consensus, try asking at the Third opinion board or look at the other ways of resolving disputes - Robert McClenon may be able to advise further. If the party's position on the political spectrum does not belong in the ideology section but rather the political position, then what Vif12vf should have done is create this section in the infobox and move the right wing wording there. Unfortunately, he prefers to continue reverting my edits with little or no explanation (at least for those who are new to wikipedia like me) and blatantly stating that I am a vandal in my talk page and that I should be banned for merely acting in "good faith". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Donnyamyc (talkcontribs) 14:41, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sadly the position-parameters dont work with the template being used in this article. In other articles of indonesian political parties using this template, the position is usually kept out of the infobox and is rather put in the main body of text, an example may be found in the article of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle where it says the following: "The party's centre-left ideology is based on the official Indonesian national philosophy, Pancasila". This is just one example of an alternate way! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 14:51, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The article would be more informative and helpful if a political position section is added to the info box so that users do not have to read the whole article to find out or guess the party's political position. In the Wikipedia pages of other political parties around the world, their position on the left-right political spectrum is clearly indicated in the political section of their infobox. I can't see a reason why Perindo Party's page should be exempt from this accepted standard. Donnyamyc (talk) 10:11, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that the position-parameters dont work with this infobox template somehow, and this is not an excuse to add the position to the ideology-section! Also im not proposing to put the position far into the article, im proposing to put it in the lede! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 12:19, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
