Dunder Mifflin

[edit]

I am going through several articles and changing instances of "Dunder-Mifflin" to "Dunder Mifflin" (no hyphen) as it is the proper "spelling" of the company name (see Talk page at Dunder Mifflin). Just leaving a note to say that I've gone through this page. :) Fieryrogue 15:55, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Naming Suggestion

[edit]

I love The Office, but what about having an actual article about performance reviews... you know, the formal process where managers meet with workers to analyze their job performance. Not saying that The Office is not the last word on performance review... just that maybe Performance Review (The Office episode) might be a better title for this.

In the meantime, I hope no one minds if I add a disambiguation link to Performance appraisal.--Marcinjeske (talk) 07:52, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episode's Date and Help

[edit]

I rescently discovered a tidbit about the episode that isn't very important, but a little interesting. In the episode Jim tricks Dwight into believing that it is Friday, though it is really a Thursday. While pretending to leave a message on a friend's answering machine, he says that tomorrow's date ("Saturday") is the 15th. I looked, and since the show is in real time, I assumed that the episode could have taken place somewhere between September - December 2005. The only Saturday the 15th in those months was in October. That means that this episode takes place October 13, 2005, placing it before "Halloween." It isn't really a huge revelation; stations broadcast episodes out of the intended order all the time. Anyway, I know that I wrote it on the page a while back in a way that was OR, so it was removed. I was wondering if anyone knew a way that I could write it so it wasn't OR. I mean, I see other Wikipedia pages with similar little tidbits that obviously stem from OR, and they are left on the pages, so I didn't know if I went about typing it wrong or what. Can someone help me? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vert Bandit (talkcontribs) 20:52, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The show isn't really in "real time" as far as dates, at least that's my view of it. But, if it was, that would be an interesting tidbit. Usually, pieces of "random" trivia like that aren't incorporated into the episode articles, as lists of trivia such as that are discouraged. Interesting-- of course. Encyclopedic-- not really.Mastrchf (t/c) 21:16, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]
  • "...about their romantic relationship from the previous episode." - I prefer the link be used with " previous episode", not just "episode"
  • onset -> on-set
  • "Dwight's fitness orb" - is orb the right word? I thought it was a fitness ball? Or is that what Dwight calls it?
    Yeah, It's called that by Dwight.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 19:17, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "...much to Michael's chagrin" - is chagrin the right word here? Anger? Displeasure?
  • Perhaps you want to note that Wilmore guest starred in a previous episode?
  • "...one of the very first season two episodes aired." -> one of the very first episodes of the second season.
  • "When the episode was being formulated..." - the episode - Performance Review (reminds people what ep you're talking about)
  • rehearsed "about ten time" - ten times?
  • initial lines give to Steve Carell and Melora Hardin -> given
  • I noted in the production section that you use the crew names inconsistently (Krasinksi but then Rainn Wilson, etc.). I think it would look better if you use their surnames (unless they aren't mentioned previously, like Angela Kinsey)
  • Hardin recalled that is was extremely difficult -> it was?
  • Link for The Office Cast (2007). The Office Convention 2007 Cast Q&A. (Interview). The Office: Overtime: NBC.?
I'm not sure what you mean here. Its a DVD extra on the Office: Overtime DVD, but I can't seem to find a link to the Overtime DVD on Wikipedia.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 19:17, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Link Oscar
  • When was the Seitz review published? I'm curious because it mentions the best episodes of the series
I'm not sure, as it doesn't readily have its date, but it looks like it goes all the way to "Niagara".--Gen. Quon (Talk) 19:17, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "In fact, Wilson later claimed that Dwight's line about laser tag caused "quite a buzz" online" - not a fan of the "in fact" part
  • see 4 September 4, 2012 and 4 September 2012 (use consistent formatting)

Mostly minor issues, so nice work. I got some of them, but for others I didn't want to change anything without hearing a possible response back first. I'll place it on hold for seven days. Ruby 2010/2013 03:53, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I believe I've gotten everything and responded to specific ones above. Thank you for the review!--Gen. Quon (Talk) 19:17, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good. Passing this one for GA. Nice work! Ruby 2010/2013 15:05, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
