Notability
[edit]"The Perfect Prom Project (PPP) is one of many charitable prom organizations in place across the United States." (Current version of the intro, emphasis added.)
What is the assertion of notability in this intro? This reads like it is a local-level organization with no presence on the national scene. I don't know when this got watered down, but without a case for why it's notable, I'm think AfD will be in order on this article.
So, what makes this organization notable? —C.Fred (talk) 00:53, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- I changed the intro. The organization actually serves much of Illinois and is open to people from all states. People from states outside of Illinois have also been involved. It is not just a local activity. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.136.204.70 (talk • contribs) 03:13, 5 April 2007 (UTC).
The problem is, the one reliable source for the article talks about it only in reference to Central Illinois. I still don't see notability. (By contrast, because The Glass Slipper Project appeared on Oprah, they're notable, even if they only serve Chicago.) I see this on a parallel as a local chapter of a sorority: they don't get their own articles, so I'm thinking at best this gets merged to the article on charitable prom organizations. —C.Fred (talk) 03:22, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
I do not think this is like different chapters of the same sorority. Rather this is more like separate sororities with similar missions. Each are notable in their own rights. Also, the Glass Slipper Project mentioned on the Oprah show, features the Perfect Prom Project on a section of its website. Additionally, the Perfect Prom Project has been covered in news papers and on television.
