I think it's fair to mention his work in Bauru, São Paulo, where he established an institute. [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheForsakenWanderer (talk • contribs) 06:46, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
"Discovery" of Osseointegration
[edit]To say that Brånemark discovered osseointegration is factually incorrect. Bothe, Beaton, and Davenport described osseointegration in their 1940 paper "Reaction of Bone to Multiple Metallic Implants." Osseointegration was later described by Gottlieb Leventhal in 1951 in his paper "Titanium, A metal for surgery." These studies were published before Brånemark even began his research. While Brånemark did revitalize the field of implantology and helped bring about its popularity, it is a disservice to the researchers who came before him to ignore their contributions. Merge proposal: Gösta Larsson to here
[edit]Gösta Larsson is at best WP:1E, not notable, but worth a sentence here. Boleyn (talk) 13:39, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- Support merge THE NEW ImmortalWizard(chat) 19:22, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose - Clear vase of article that needs to be put through AfD.--BabbaQ (talk) 22:14, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- Support - Clear case of WP:ATD-M, given that "Articles that are short and unlikely to be expanded [can] be merged into larger articles". The case of Gösta Larsson supports the usefulness of the technique through the longevity of the implant and so fits will within the article. Klbrain (talk) 08:08, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Closed as merge - full information merged and so nothing is lost to readers. If anyone thinks he is notable and not just BIO1E, then it can be easily reverted. Boleyn (talk) 10:31, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
