[edit]An estate, in its English and Australian meaning, entails a working agricultural entity. Country houses in the British isles and, to a lesser extent, in Australia (in Scone, for example), are estates in the truest sense of the word. A house with a swimming pool and a tennis court attached is an "estate" only to nouveau riche American estate agents. It is sad that their Australian peers have adopted the term. No decent estate agent in England could have got away with it!—Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.82.129.66 (talk) 16:21, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
