Caxton text quoted not cited
[edit]The body of the quote is based on the original Caxton print and not the Winchester manuscript, and as such contains some differences or edits to the work. There is a line concerning "enforcing" women, that is to sexually assault them. The Caxton print omitted this for popular consumption, whereas the Winchester text reflects the presumably original writing. 2607:F2C0:EB6A:2D:3C69:D1DB:EA28:5DBC (talk) 02:19, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
- Just a note to say I've updated the text to a translation of the (closer to the original) Winchester Manuscript into modern English. If anyone wants this changed to another version (e.g. using the original text, either with updated or original spellings), then please do so. Would be good to mention the changes made by Caxton to the oath if we can get a source that covers it. ‑‑YodinT 19:42, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
