Given that this is a very short article, concerning only a small aspect of pensions in the US, I propose it is merged into Pension. --Pontificalibus (talk) 08:41, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
I understand your viewpoint. But it is short because it was just started. I think pension administration, the act of maintaining a plan warrants it's own entry because it is a very complex and colorful business. Pensions are only but one factor in a greater picture. You will see what I mean as I add more to it, and call attention to others in the business who will most likely contribute. --Emellis2001 (talk) 20:13, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's great that you plan to expand the article. Perhaps you could start with an introduction explaining Pension Adminstration in general and why it is important, ideally without exclusive reference to the system in the United States.--Pontificalibus (talk) 20:17, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
I will act on your suggestion. But my detailed knowledge is within the United States. My understanding is that wikipedia is a mosaic which thrives on the concept of people contributing their own expertise to expand the project. Hopefully someone else can expand on the concept with respect to the rest of the world, where my knowledge is very general.--Emellis2001 (talk) 20:28, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
It would be good to talk about UK pensions and not only US. For example, what is a "final salary pension scheme" so talked about in the UK at the moment? Is it a private or State pension? This is a UK only pension type I assume. It would be good to have details. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.136.143.54 (talk) 05:42, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
I agree this page should remain separate. Pensions are a broad concept and should really reflect the wide variety of what kind of "pensions" have been put in place around the world. Hopefully increasing contributions will show this variety. Cknoxvydmanov (talk) 17:07, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
I agree they should be merged, topics are similar. Administration is part of the Pension. Stats71 (talk) 20:18, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm not certain they should be merged. What I am trying to do is paint a mosaic describing the unique flow and structure of the pension administration business. It is a colorful process with colorful players that touches many aspects of American society and the American economy. To add it as a subsection of the pension article seems to trivialize that aim. emellis (talk) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.146.104.129 (talk) 20:05, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
- Ok. Can you elaborate as to why it would be beneficial for the article to stand alone? Thank you. Statoman71 (talk) 20:20, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
