Some problems:
In this revision from 2012, the sentence saying the tool is named after Dr. David Pennington was added. There is a Dr. David Pennington, from Australia - except that his name is always Penington, and the clamp is always Pennington. His name is wikilinked and the article about him, with one n, makes no mention of the clamp.
I can't find anything about it googling either name + keywords, and I used google books to search through his 400-page autobiography - https://books.google.ie/books?id=E1QNdGDmacAC&printsec=frontcover&dq=isbn:9780522857443&hl=en - and can't find anything relevant from clamp, forceps, invent, develop, device, etc.
It's completely plausible that he did develop it, but can anyone find any information linking the man and this clamp??
