Name
[edit]It seems that the correct name of this person is Panait Călcâi. A confirmation would be most welcome. --Mlang.Finn (talk) 16:11, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi. If you can find an online source to state this, I'll happily cite it in the article and move it to the correct name. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 19:06, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
- I’d prefer a printed source, perhaps from Romania. On-line sources are often unreliable and copy errors from each other. — In this particular case, I’ve seen both forms – “Penait” and “Panait” – but Panait seems to be a common name in Romania. This is, of course, merely circumstantial evidence. On the other hand, Romanian-language sources seem to be unanimous about the diacritics in the family name, Călcâi. --Mlang.Finn (talk) 16:16, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
death?
[edit]How can we say with any confidence this man is still alive. In all likelihood he has died. Can't we say something like: "Penait Calcai is a possibly living former sports shooter" ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.205.200.7 (talk) 14:30, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- If he is still alive, he'd be 95, hence why he's possibly living. He may well have died, but until sources are presented to state this, he remains as possibly living on WP. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:54, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
