Use of Peggy

I don't recall- certainly not while she was a minister in the 1960s - anyone in Westminister (not even a journalist of any poltical stripe) - actually referring to her as "Peggy". Is there a reference from about 1964 for anyone actually doing so? In those days, patronising women MPs (of all parties) was considered perefctly OK, but even in her early battles in the 1964 Cabinet "Peggy" was NOT applied to her. She'd spent a good part of the 1930s walking from education office to education office looking for teaching work.Delahays (talk) 17:18, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Numerous results from British Newspaper Archive of her being called Peggy, going back to the 30s and on through tthe 60s, and including an advert by a Labour Party agent to hear her speak in 1970. DuncanHill (talk) 17:28, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
