Both the idea to write this article and most of the sources were given to me today by a user who came in to the #wikipedia-en-help IRC channel. The user went by "bob". Howicus (Did I mess up?) 02:23, 19 May 2015 (UTC)

Is peerio server Free Software?
[edit]It is unclear from the article or a quick search on the web if the server side of peerio is Free Software. The client side is, this much is clear. Any pointers on instructions on how to self-host peerio would clarify this point.

After asking to the Peerio support, I received the following answer:
> Thanks for getting in touch! Although Peerio's client is open source, the server is not.
