Inclusion of Adult and Alternative Schools
[edit]You may need to include material on the alternative schools. I am not currently in a position to place this in any sensible place, but you need to include at the very least: 1. Alternative School South/North/West (3 schools, formerly InDec North/South) 2. Adult Education Centre North/South Plus shedding some light on the power structure around the alternative school sub-system. This will actually take some digging. But I know (as someone who works in adult school) that for the two listed above, the principal works at the Board Office, and it is only the Vice Principal that is actually in the school. Adult education had also been tossed back and forth between Board control and control by The Centre for Education and Training (CET), a private contractor. Currently adult school is run directly from Board Office. Paul EJ King 01:00, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Family?
[edit]are any of these schools referred to as "family" schools as they are listed? not so on pdsb's website.
- High school articles should start as part of their "family", and then if the article is of sufficient quality and size, then break off. Otherwise, many of the articles are quite mediocre. Erindale Family is a good example of what a complete article can look like, including every school in the "family".

School board logo
[edit]Note that the logo on their web site has not yet been updated to the new school board logo. The font is wrong, and the font colour is wrong. This is described in their 2005 annual report, which has a few pages describing the logo. The 2005 annual report, BTW, is where I took the new logo. --Stephane Charette 21:17, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- Could you bring it down to 350px or 300px? It's just too wide. --Usgnus 21:40, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yikes. I tried adding |imagesize=300px to the infobox, but the wiki software does a horrible job of resizing! I'll have to resize it locally using the usual (gimp!) image software and re-upload a new version. Hold on... --Stephane Charette 21:45, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, I think the 300px size is better than the previous 400px I had uploaded yesterday. Too bad the wiki software does such a bad job of on-the-fly resizing...it makes the "imagesize" infobox parameter completely useless with non-photographic images. --Stephane Charette 22:11, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- Much better. Thank you. --Usgnus 22:15, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Balmoral Drive Senior Public School
[edit]An article on Balmoral Drive Senior Public School (a Brampton school operated by the Peel District School Board) under a non-standard name, Balmoral middle school, was deleted following discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Balmoral middle school.
After the AfD closed, I found some evidence that a school that some people referred to as Balmoral Middle School once existed in Brampton, Ontario by searching Google at http://www.google.ca/search?q=%22Balmoral+Middle+School%22+site:ca (that is, with "Balmoral Middle School" in quotes and +site:ca , saying to search only for domains in the .ca top level domain for Canada)
http://www.cahperd.ca/eng/rap/documents/RAP_School_List_0304.pdf and http://www.acsepld.ca/eng/rap/documents/2002-03.pdf list the school as recipient of an award from the QDPE School Recognition Award Program of the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Perhaps this was only an unofficial name used in physical education circles or perhaps someone at the school gave an incorrect version of the school's name to CAHPERD. Or, perhaps more likely, the Peel District School Board decided to abandon use of the term "middle school" and renamed the school to Balmoral Drive Senior Public School, the name in current use and the one shown at http://balmoraldrivesr.peelschools.org Using the school's current name, I found a prize-winning poem by a student, a reference to street-crossing safety in the minutes of the city council of Brampton, a newspaper story about an alumnus of the school at http://www.northpeel.com/br/entertainment/story/2187455p-2535325c.html --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 13:11, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:PeelDistrictSchoolBoardLogo.gif
[edit]Image:PeelDistrictSchoolBoardLogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merger proposal
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was to merge Regional Enhanced Program into this article and simply redirect International Business and Technology Program to this article. The former had one paragraph that was potentially of use. The IBTP article was unsourced opinion and information on how much the bus costs. So I didn't see anything worth merging there. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 06:40, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
I propose that Regional Enhanced Program be merged into Peel District School Board. The former is essentially an orphan article, and would be more usefully merged into the section that already exists in the latter.Raellerby (talk) 14:20, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
I propose that International Business and Technology Program be merged into Peel District School Board. The former article is essentially an orphan, and describes a program that is only undertaken by the PDSB.Raellerby (talk) 16:22, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
ref for second largest school district in Canada
[edit]I was creating a stub in Bengali. Checked the ref for this board being the 2nd largest school district in Canada. First of all, it does not show any such info; secondly the ref is from the website of the board itself. So, I did a google search on canada largest school district - got into this site. Though it lists this board as a featured school district board, I could not find a page there that supports the claim of being 2nd largest school district in Canada. Is there a proper ref on this?--GDibyendu (talk) 19:47, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- Confirms it is second largest in Canada: Rushowy, Kristin. "Toronto and Peel school boards prepare for biggest cuts since Harris years." Toronto Star. Wednesday June 13, 2012. Retrieved on May 20, 2013. "That sentiment was echoed at the Peel public board — the second-largest school board in the country, behind Toronto[...]" WhisperToMe (talk) 14:48, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Minister of Education: "systemic racism" at the Peel Board
[edit]This article needs an update by an editor who has already done work on it.
Ontario sends investigator to Peel school board after 'inaction >> Education minister pledges to make changes at Peel District School Board Toronto-area school board struggling with allegations of systemic racism if the organization can't take action on its own.
The board’s troubles are ongoing despite a scathing report last month from three reviewers that prompted Lecce to order more than two dozen fixes — orders he is now concerned are not being followed.
the mediation ordered by Lecce to help a very divided Peel board was falling apart after two trustees said attacks on the Black community continue, and the senior administrator who launched the human rights case had taken a leave of absence.
"We cannot and will not sit idle, while families and students continue to feel isolated, victimized, and targeted."
