[edit]As muhc as Mensalão should be mentioned only in its on artcile, Palocci should be mentioned only whithin his own article. One of Anyway, Jefferson´s main issue is the mensalão, so it should remain there. Lulu Margarida yes? 17:09, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- You're talking about succession. You wouldn't mention that George W. Bush succeeded Bill Clinton in the Bill Clinton article? usually that's done through a succession box, but we don't have one in this case.--Dali-Llama 17:17, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- YOU are talkng abt succession, doesn´t matter who came after or before; maybe you should insert a box then. Lulu Margarida yes? 17:20, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- Well, we're talking about succession. I can't believe you're opposed to saying who replaced Malan as minister of finance... You want to create a box, go ahead, but I don't want to take that project up. Until we have the box, we can leave the succession blurb.--Dali-Llama 17:37, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

- The article´s title is Pedro Malan and his biography, not Lula nor Palocci nor who succeeded Malan. Lulu Margarida yes? 16:24, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- This is bordering on non-sensical now. You're actually saying we shouldn't say why the minister of finance of a country left and who replaced him?--Dali-Llama 18:15, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Third Opinion
[edit]Change from:
- Former Minister of Finances of Brazil, from January 1 1995 to December 31 2002, during the presidency of Fernando Henrique Cardoso.
to
- Malan was the Minister of Finance of Brazil, from January 1 1995 to December 31 2002, during the presidency of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, until the incoming administration of Luis Inácio Lula da Silva replaced him with Antonio Palocci Filho.
This seems absolutely straightforward to me--in the absence of a succession box for this particular job (minister of finance for Brazil), we should state in prose in the article who succeeded him and why (after all, he wasn't fired--a new administration came in).--Dali-Llama 18:33, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- You can mention succession, but not within the text. Why don´t you build the box? Lulu Margarida yes? 18:40, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- It's an inordinate amount of work to build the box, since the Ministry of finance has all the names of the ministers in a list and I'd have to format it all to wiki text, and it's one of my projects to do in the future. In the meantime, can you cite a specific policy which adding this would run afoul of? I can't imagine anyone not agreeing to include that until the box is created.--Dali-Llama 18:45, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- it´s another adm., don´t think it´s necessary to mention ouside of a box. Lulu Margarida yes? 19:18, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

- I was reading Palocci´s article and...will you mention who came before and after? What abt Guido Mantega, Zelia Cardoso, Marcílio Marques,...will you mention who came BEFORE MALAN --was it FHC? Lulu Margarida yes? 19:24, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- Jesus, you keep thinking this is a conspiracy and that I'm trying to push some obscure POV... Add who came after (and who came before, actually) to any article you'd like that doesn't have a box.--Dali-Llama 19:30, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- No, I´m just saying you should mention that --not only on his artcile and not only a Lula successor. Just wondering why don´t you mention who came BEFORE, someone not realted to Lula. That´s what I find a POV. Pls I don´t want to make it personal, don´t refer to me, pls!, only to the artcile. As much as you think I must mention each of his jobs, I think you must mention who came before. Lulu Margarida yes? 19:34, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

3rd Opinion comment
[edit]I can see the problem you two are having. There are arguments in favour of mentioning succession, and arguments against. It is appropriate that you are having a discussion to discover a solution - and it appears that the succession box is one you are agreed is the most appropriate solution. But you are both held back by the possible work involved. I have taken a look at how to create a succession box, and it shouldn't be too difficult
