Death at Munkholmen?

[edit]

Does anyone have a source to confirm that Griffenfeld died at Munkholmen? My understanding, based on information given from the Munkholmen tour and online sources, is that he was released after contracting a fatal illness and died shortly thereafter. The article is from the EB 1911, which I have often found is a bit careless with biographical details, at least (but likely not only) on non-British people. According to the Dansk biografisk lexikon, 1st ed., which is available online, he was allowed to settle in Trondheim in 1698 and died there on March 12 the next year.[1] --Uppland 04:27, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your input. This is in agreement with what I had been told at Munkholmen. I suspect we should fix the article. Darryl Thomas 21:32, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

style

[edit]

This article seems to be written in a non-encyclopedic style. Is it really from the EB, of all places? DGG 23:38, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
