– The Peacham (disambiguation) page could even be deleted becase of its small size. I am moving Peacham, Vermont to Peacham because it is the only town named Peacham. --Relisted. Number 57 14:49, 18 February 2015 (UTC) Aidan721 (talk) 18:54, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

- Oppose WP:USPLACE -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 00:21, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose. No sufficient argument has been made yet that the settlement in Vermont is the primary topic for the search term "Peacham" (just because it is a town, it does not automatically make it the primary topic). Even if that was the case, the article falls under the WP:USPLACE guidelines, where almost all articles on populated places in the United States use the "Placename, State". This heavily, perennial debated guideline is currently under a moratorium for at least another month, so I would refrain from making an exception to this page at this time. Zzyzx11 (talk) 03:22, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- I also cannot support any primary topic. The town in Vermont is small and only has a population of 723, and the article barely reaches 20 hits per day.[1] Zzyzx11 (talk) 06:25, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
- Support the first, oppose the second - yes to primary topic, but no to the second. Peacham should redirect to the Vermont town. Red Slash 05:46, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- Support move for Peacham → Peacham (disambiguation) - However, I oppose moving Peacham, Vermont → Peacham. I do however think Peacham should be redirected to Peacham, Vermont. CookieMonster755 (talk) 19:19, 8 February 2015 (UTC).
- Oppose both suggestions. "Peacham" is now a proper disambiguation page with multiple entries. "Peacham, Vermont" follows the longstanding convention at WP:USPLACE. --MelanieN (talk) 17:11, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- Move to Henry Peacham and redirect Peacham to Peacham, Vermont. I think the city is a better target for the name on its own, but should follow WP:USPLACE. The two Henrys should be found at their own disambiguation page. kennethaw88 • talk 04:37, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose the second per WP:USPLACE. As to the first, is there really a primary topic? I'm not seeing any facts to support that in this discussion. Vegaswikian (talk) 01:52, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Any additional comments:
- Henry Peacham was about 2 men with the same name; I have split it into Henry Peacham (born 1546) and Henry Peacham (born 1578). Henry Peacham now redirects to Peacham, which is a disambig page. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 10:23, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- Another Suggestion Peacham moves to Henry Peacham with a see also section linking to Peacham, Vermont. Peacham then becomes a redirect to Peacham, Vermont. --Aidan721 (talk) 03:51, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
- This seems reasonable. kennethaw88 • talk 04:39, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- Support Aidan721 suggestion. CookieMonster755 (talk) 05:14, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Peacham → Peacham (disambiguation) – "Peacham" is the name of precisely one thing that has (or is ever likely to have) an article on Wikipedia. It is a small town in Vermont, Peacham, Vermont. Normally, this would lead to Peacham being a redirect to that town. However, currently Peacham is a disambiguation page which also lists two late gentlemen with the surname "Peacham". These two men are not particularly significant, and in any case are partial title matches, which are only rarely even included within a disambiguation page. (See Lake (disambiguation), as an example pulled off the very top of my head.) We did a RM here not too long ago; unfortunately, the proposer thought we should move the article on the town to Peacham, which is a complete no-go under WP:USPLACE. Four different editors (see above) agreed that Peacham should redirect straight to the town, but the closer did not seem to take that into consideration, and then when I did it myself, I was first rebuffed for doing it sloppily (which I did) and then was ultimately reverted. So I leave it to your capable hands. Red Slash 02:59, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- Support per nom. The Vermont town is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Peacham", and so Peacham should redirect to Peacham, Vermont. This is a normal setup for U.S. places (e.g., Chattanooga, Tallahassee), and even other towns in Vermont (e.g., Brattleboro, Enosburgh, Ripton), and will help our readers get to the article they're looking for.
