payload missions research request
[edit]If it's posseble, can some one type a list of payload missions, and
- which mission and spacecraft
- what were they testing
- what was the procedure
- what did they conclude
"...virus, worm, or computer exploit..." doesn't make sense
[edit]"It's mainly used at computer virus, worm, or computer exploit. The term payload doesn't define if the information makes any sense." This doesn't make much sense. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xlq (talk • contribs) 19:13, 7 February 2007 (UTC).
- "I'm making this all into the single phrase "computer exploit", as viruses and worms are both computer exploits.Rmsuperstar99 23:24, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Payload in biomedicine/molecular biology
[edit]The term 'payload' is also used to describe transgenes transported into a cell, e.g.therapeutic genes transfered into a cell with a viral gene transfer vector.
Aircraft section commentary
[edit]This is moved here from the article itself. (sdsds - talk) 20:32, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
- (This section needs to be explained without Technical lingo so that a 6 year old child could understand it. While rockets are nice most of this is used in terms of earth bound aircrat.
Please explain and definite what maximum payload is --is it all the luggage + the weight of fuel or and what is the Operating Empty weight--are we saying that we do not have any payload and NO fuel? Jet fuel weighs 6.8 lbs per gallon so in adding fuel we add weight. This section needs to be greatly revised.)
The payload vs. range graph
[edit]Would it not be better to have payload on the x-axis and range on the y-axis? - Arrivisto (talk) 11:18, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
- For what reason? Isn't it more likely that an aircraft operator would look up what payload can be transported over a set range (e.g. between 2 airports) than the reverse? DexDor (talk) 22:22, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
Example for Automated Transfer Vehicle
[edit]I checked the source given in this section for the specs fo ATV : [1] . I realized that in the launch configuration section on the upper left part of pdf; it's written as "Payload Envelope : 8 racks with 2 x 0.314 m3 and 2 x 0.414 m3 each 1.146 m3 in front of 4 of these 8 racks". In the wiki page however, it's written as Payload: 7,667 kg 8 racks with 2 x 0.314 m3 and 2 x 0.414 m3; Envelope: each 1.146 m3 in front of 4 of these 8 racks. So the information is broke into two separate line in the wiki page. I will fix this. --Guyver (talk) 10:12, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
