Lead photo
[edit]I know the lead photo is awful (copy of a copy) but there are not many viable options that satisfy US copyright (mostly unpublished private collection photos). I am working on a better option. Froggerlaura ribbit 14:30, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
Belmont Cup
[edit]Before it gets mentioned, the Belmont website is in error. The Cup was not made in 1869 or won by the elder Belmont. The confusion stems from the 1926 NY Times press release that stated as much and has been reported in error ever since (even by the people who should know the history of their own trophy- which is kinda sad). I side with John Loring who actually has the 1896 work order and plans for the object. I wonder what Farnham must have thought in 1926 when the Times essentially negated his existence. Go Yogo!
[edit]Hey Froggerlaura, fun to meet you on this article, as I was also one of the people who worked on Yogo sapphire. Thanks so much for creating this article and finding a photo of the Iria Brooch! Great work! Montanabw(talk) 22:53, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
