Paul Van Zeeland was First Minister with the Help of the communists vote.
(He never criticized the communism even after the war.)

But the German insisted to make Degrelle (the leader of Rex) free although the rexist diary wrote in its first page the day of the German invasion "stand up against the enemy (the Germans)". So the one who made Degrelle an allied for Nazis is the Belgian Government at that time).
Paul Van Zeeland was also known to become the director of the National Bank of Belgium (which means an higher wage than First Minister). But he didn't get the function so he took the difference wage directly in the Belgian budget.
