Image of Paul de Leeuw

[edit]

I have an Image of Paul, but I don't have an account. Here it is: http://www.amsterdamstaffband.org/news/pauldeleeuw.jpg —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.45.63.104 (talk) 22:57, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have to strongly object to the apologistic tone taken when discussing his comedy act done with the little boy. This was definitely a joke about pedophilia. This cannot be spun as "harmless" or "misinterpreted", because he quite obviously was acting inappropriately. Yes, he was trying to be funny. Yes, it was a joke about pedophilia. It matters not whether it was a family friend or not, this kind of joke is not excusable.

Regardless, this is Wikipedia, and the matter should be presented, if at all, in a fair manner. As it reads now it sounds like a fan's apologetics. Ungoliant99 (talk) 18:43, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the remark about the "French guy" has something to do with the (sexual) position called soixante-neuf, which is French for 69. 85.145.60.134 15:49, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Article claims Sakis Rouvas is openly Homosexual which is not true acording to both his WP entry and website etc. Evomutant 02:22, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to make it more neutral. And with that, I removed the dispute tag. Wempain 02:44, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This is a particularly bad article, and I'm not talking about my broken English here, it's just terribly out of balance. It lists a number of hardly relevant details and until I added some information it made no refeernce at all to his television carrier. Why the hell do you think his behaviour yesterday was so relevant for this article? This is an encyclopaedia but sometimes it looks more like a weblog. Steinbach (fka Caesarion) 16:32, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I wrote it based on the incident, because commentators for the contest were pretty annoyed at him. I didn't know of him previously. Esteffect 16:49, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have no comment to whether or not the information was relevant or if the article was encyclopaedic. But my changes survived the (good) editing by Steinbach, so apparently they were appropriate. :) Wempain 17:40, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah ok, he is quite annoying indeed, but do we still find this incident encyclopaedic next year? I think not. This is a general tendency in Wikipedia, especially in the English Wikipedia where there are so many contributors: reports of incidents often overshadow the rest of the article. Cf. the Ruud Lubbers article, which is (or was?) chiefly about the fact that he likes to touch women, even though he has been the Dutch prime minister for twelve years, an Economic Affairs minister before and a main diplomat after. Steinbach (fka Caesarion) 16:56, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
First I like to say that I totally agree on the things Steinbach is saying right above here. An encyclopedia should not focus on small, unimportant facts. Nevertheless, the last sentence says: "De Leeuw's actions resulted in negative comments from the commentators" -> (mainly because of my own curiosity I'd like to know:) does that imply that there were more commentators who found his actions annoying, or is this sentence based on the opinion of Terry Wogan only? Tubantia 19:06, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's based on several, but I can only quote Wogan, as I don't know the exact words of others. Esteffect 22:17, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hahahahahaha!!! LOOOOOOOL

the portuguese comentator Eládio Clímaco didn't even understand what he meant!! We only have "Will and Grace" in Cable TV and it's not know from the older public (like Eládio), only teens...

when he sad will and grace he translated:

- You look like Will and Grace

--> Eládio Clímaco translated something like "you look very greek", or "we like the show in Greece", as Grace is loked like the portuguese word for Greece - grécia, or greek - grego...hahaha...i laughed so much...

the rest, Eládio Clímaco just laughed and also thought it was realy funny, but he didn't mention nothing about homossexuality, he just said that he was giving his mobile number and laughed. :P

gonçalo

Adding dialogues literally to this article further degrades it. I'd like to propose to delete this passage, it is completely irrelevant and non-encyclopaedic. The article now emphasizes too much on this little international appearance of Paul de Leeuw, which has been exaggerated already far too much. Tubantia 18:57, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, it's OK. As long as the dialogue is true (which it is) there's not much against it. I found the "incident", as you call it, very refreshing. And the fact that he still read out all the results was a cool way to protest (I also liked Belgium's We ♥ Kate Ryan, whose beauty, as an opposite, lies in its subtlety). Keep the seriousness for the European Commission! As a conclusion, if people expect to get that dialogue of Paul de Leeuw when searching, then it's good. Anyway, there isn't too much else to read at the moment. Maybe someone will be inspired and do a bit more of research because of this.  VodkaJazz / talk  23:58, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article is completely unbalanced, before the contest there wasn't even an article on Paul, and this one doens't do any justice to him at al. I hope I'll have some time soon to write something decent. Solitude\talk 23:44, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure it would be great if you could expand it, there's much more to say. Look for instance at the Dutch page (don't know if you speak that language). You could translate some stuff from that one. - TR Blom

Creepy Video of Paul de Leeuw

[edit]

Prima facia evidence of de Leeuw's behavior as a pedophile is here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk1HAOARNQ4

This guy is pedophile. Were anyone else to do this in public or private there would be an arrest. Imagine if a priest did this?

His behavior is documented and well known. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.34.146.254 (talk) 15:32, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wogan

[edit]

Does anyone know the full line Terry Wogan said about him? Saying he just called him an idiot seems unfairly harsh, as knowing Wogan it was probably said in a lighthearted way. BillyH 00:04, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It certainly wasn't. Wogan was disgusted. RossyG 13:49, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

wogan was light hearted about it, i watched it live he really thought it was funny. i actually asked him on the radio show via the magic of @mail it was off-beat to standard television. Markthemac (talk) 22:38, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From memory, he called him an "eejit", not an "idiot". Esteffect (talk) 02:38, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes he called him an eejit,I have the 2006 ESC edition commented by Terry Wogan and I can confirm that it is correct.

Can we mention in the article that Paul De Leeuw called Marija Serifovic Kelly Osbourne wich caused a laugh among the audience. He also refered to Miko Leppilampi as Lampi.I dont know if u guys remember about this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.161.76.219 (talk) 09:12, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pedophile video

[edit]

I added a section to the article regarding de Leeuw's pedophilia, but it was quickly removed. I don't know what else to do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.179.39.8 (talk) 04:08, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
