Footnotes
[edit]This article is improperly footnoted from start to finish. All the existing cites to a title need to be back-checked and exact page details put in. Failing that, it needs a complete rewrite with proper sourcing. Sorry to be so grouchy about it; it needs to be done though. Carrite (talk) 22:40, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Levi's expulsion from the KPD
[edit]A recent edit stated that Levi was expelled from the KPD for criticising Soviet policy. This is untrue for two reasons. Firstly the Soviet Union had not yet been created in 1921. But more importantly, Levi's expulsion had very much to do with internal KPD politics. Levi had been the major driving force behind moving the party away from an ultra-left position and in the course had made many enemies among those KPD leaders prone to ultra-leftism. when the KPD leadership launched the ultra-leftist March Action, Levi attacked this action vociferously and publicly. This public criticism was used by his critics in the party expel him. Lenin and Trotsky were very unhappy with the March Action, and were un happy to lose Levi. However, Levi refused to accept Lenin's proposed compromise and remained outside the KPD. - Mia-etol (talk) 14:59, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

The reason I suggested removing a citation I'd added years ago was because I'd originally thought posting my undergraduate thesis was a good idea. I thought it was a good way to network with others working on Levi. Today, years later, I do not see my thesis as a great source, and I am also concerned that a right wing blog cited it for foul purposes, likely having found it on Levi's Wikipedia. I would like to remove my cited thesis as a source. Thank you for your work on Levi. — Preceding unsigned comment added by B3rd (talk • contribs) 06:21, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
Suicide or Not?
[edit]The article includes a quotation from someone stating that Levi committed suicide by jumping out of that attic window, but no further information is given. So what is the consensus, was it murder, suicide or an accident? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.27.116.152 (talk) 20:17, 26 July 2020 (UTC)
