bluegrass?

[edit]

bluegrass?

now, chuck berry style rock'n'roll i can easily believe, since the first l.a. guns album definitely has a lot of blues in it.

I've actually read an interview with Paul and he actually does say bluegrass, believe it or not. I'll dig it up if you really want evidence.

biased

[edit]

This page is extremely biased.

Such lines as they never reached the success of the first album, the next 2 albums both outsold it! and these songs have carried the band for the last two decades? What a crock.

Here we are, nearly three years on, and the article is still a POV, fancruft ridden, mess. Can someone with a knowledge of the subject matter, and basic Wiki editing skills, please try to improve the stuation. Thank you,

Birthday?

[edit]

His Birthday is given as 27th March on his page, but he is also listed as a celebrity born on 17 march: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/17th_March

Which one is his correct birthday? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.115.170 (talk) 19:42, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aside from all that, if he was really born in 1965, he would have been 12 or 13 when he attended San Jose State University. Yet there are no words like "despite his youth", "in spite of his age", "prodigy", etc. He would have been 15 when he moved to L.A. Was he doing all this moving by himself, or did his parents move too? How, and when, did he get from Scotland to California? Also, if he was born Paul Black, how could his given name be Paul Martin Marmorstein? BTW the list at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/17th_March not only shows his date of birth as March 17th, but in 1959! -Hccrle (talk) 23:10, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Many errors here. He was born Paul Marmorstein in California in either 1959 or 1960. He lived right down the street from me on Mesa Verdes Dr in El Dorado Hills CA from kindergarten through high school. He lived there with his family, 3 brothers and one sister from 1964 until he graduated high school (Pondorosa High in Shingle Springs) in 1978. Where this stuff about his name Paul blah blah Black and being born overseas comes form is just nonsense. He was treated as a misfit and an outcast so he fled a small town for the big city and remade himself, or tried to, completely. All the best to you Paul! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.95.129.115 (talk) 04:52, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am his niece. He was born on March 17, 1959. My father is his oldest brother. He had 4 brothers and a sister. The youngest of his brothers died at age 10. The rest are still living. Gracerebecca (talk) 12:56, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 02:37, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
