Law practice?
[edit]Paul stated in a recent interview that he ran a successful legal practice of his own in the 90's/2000s-- does anyone have any info on this? JointCompound (talk) 05:14, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
One of the last or the last?
[edit]The top of the article says Alexander is "one of the last" living people in an iron lung while the sidebar says he's "the last." Can we get clarity on that? Aresef (talk) 18:04, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
- I don’t think he’s actually the last, given the information in this article: https://www.npr.org/2021/10/25/1047691984/decades-after-polio-martha-is-among-the-last-to-still-rely-on-an-iron-lung-to-br
- However, it seems like it might just be the two of them. I haven’t found anything about anyone else, and many articles say they’re the last two. Opportunity Rover (talk) 22:21, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
- The last recipient of an iron lung in the UK passed away in 2017 at the age of 75 so they were not alone until 2017 atleast. 86.155.22.58 (talk) 22:16, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
Hold on. is he still alive?
[edit]I need this to be confirmed. Sebbers10 (talk) 19:37, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
- No he died because of Covid-19 2A00:23C6:BE86:B401:3558:C01E:F387:A552 (talk) 17:13, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
Cause of death?
[edit]We say he died of covid, with citation to a German language source. An English language source would be better. I have been unable to find one. In fact the Washington Post is reporting that no cause of death was released. Paul Alexander, who spent seven decades using iron lung, dies at 78 GA-RT-22 (talk) 18:16, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
@Factfinder10293847: do you have an opinion? If we list a cause of death in the article then it also belongs in the infobox. GA-RT-22 (talk) 19:45, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
No one seems to want to discuss this, but I would favor removing the cause of death. If no one objects and no one beats me to it I will do so. GA-RT-22 (talk) 20:41, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
- Or so the Germans would have us believe…
- Anyways, I agree with you. Sources are too contradictory to give a reliable cause of death. Opportunity Rover (talk) 05:00, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
