The number six seat wasn't challenging
[edit]I removed the comment that Deutsch's position in the number-six seat on "Match Game" was challenging because "because it was tough to come up with something clever after five panelists already offered their response." That doesn't reflect the gameplay.
In the main part of the game, all the celebrities wrote down their answers on cards simultaneously, and then revealed them in order. When Patti Deutsch was in the #6 seat, she would be the last celebrity to reveal her answer, but she wasn't expected to come up with a new, different answer from what the other celebrities had given. In fact, the contestant would prefer that all the celebrities provide the same answer as long as it was the answer that the contestant themself had given.
In the Audience Match, the contestant would choose three celebrities to provide a response, and each of the three celebrities had to provide a different response. But the contestant could choose the three celebrities in any order. Often Richard Dawson was chosen first even though he normally sat in the #5 seat. Thus, if Patti Deutsch was selected to provide an answer for the Audience Match, she would give her answer no later than third, and the fact that she was sitting in the #6 seat would have no bearing on the order in which she provided her answer.
In the Head to Head Match, only one celebrity would provide a response at all.
Hence, being in the number six seat didn't make it more difficult for Patti to provide a clever answer. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 02:35, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
