I'll pick this up for review. I should begin leaving comments in the next week.--Newtothisedit (talk) 01:06, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

[edit]
  • "where he was a standout athlete in football as a punter and baseball as a starting pitcher. He became a notable baseball prospect early in his amateur career, earning selections to multiple all-county and all-league teams" I'd combine these sentances in some way. Right now it is a little clunky and backwards maybe something along the lines of ""where he was a standout athlete in football as a punter and baseball as a starting pitcher, earning selections to multiple all-county and all league baseball teams"
  • "spent his first two brief seasons between the starting rotation and the bullpen" to "spent his first two brief seasons alternating between the starting rotation and the bullpen"
  • I'd cut this sentence out of the lead "On July 24, 2021, Sandoval came within two outs of throwing a no-hitter at Target Field before giving up a double." almost getting a no hitter (especially when its not even 1 out away) is to trivial to be in the lead.

Early life

[edit]
  • "Sandoval attended Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, California, where he played baseball and football as a punter." to "Sandoval attended Mission Viejo High School where he played baseball and football as a punter."

Professional career

[edit]
  • "fourth-most on the Angels and second among Angels starters, only behind American League MVP Shohei Ohtani" specify it was the second most among pitchers/starting pitchers right now it's slightly confusing.
    • I reworded it to "His 2.0 Wins Above Replacement (WAR) was fourth-most among all Angels players and second-most among Angels starting pitchers, only behind American League MVP Shohei Ohtani."
