Talk:Patrick Durusau
Creation
[edit]I have filled in a stub entry for Patrick Durusau, as there was a existing empty reference from article Open_Scripture_Information_Standard. He should perhaps have some link in OpenDocument article too, as long-term editor. He is notable as the prime contributor of several important Open Standards that had some controversy and for his work on hopeless death-row case(s?).
I have avoided any discussion of the merits or technical details of standards. I did not mention any ephemeral controversy regarding him, because of my involvement at the time would preclude me under Wikipedia rules. I did mention his position statement on co-evolution as I believe it is relevant and not contaminated by a connection to me: please comment if my understanding is not correct.
I have not originated this page under any arrangement, present or past, of any kind with any company, individual, effort or other institution.
PERSONAL CONNECTION: I have met Durusau on several occasions at standards-related meetings as national delegate or standards editor: I was in the same room as him several times in thee 1990s but do not recall a conversation or exchange; I had one or two(?) conversations in the 2000s and exchanged emails mainly on public forums on technical issues. I do not recall any interaction with him for perhaps 17 years. Rick Jelliffe (talk) 02:10, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
Feedback from New Page Review process
[edit]I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: I couldn't find sufficient evidence to convince me that this person meets Wikipedia's criteria for an article about an academic WP:NPROF. I suggest adding sources to support this to make it clear that this article should remain.
