Small Edits Made
[edit]Changes made in first paragraph relating to spelling of surname. Two external links were no longer working, so I deleted them. linda216~~
Supposedly Patrick Brunty admired the great British Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, 1st Duke of Bronté, and changed his name to honor Nelson. That would also explain the accent mark, since the King of the Two Sicilies, Ferdinand, created Nelson a Duke in appreciation for his victory over the French at the Battle of the Nile, in 1798. References for that supposition would be welcomed here. Dthomsen8 (talk) 02:43, 23 December 2008 (UTC)davidt8
Career as Clergyman
[edit]The article as I found it implies he was a curate all his working life. In fact, taking cue from his entry in Venn (already a linked citation), he was a curate up to 1820 when he became Vicar (abbreviated "V" in Venn) of Haworth, not perpetual curate. Immediately prior he was Perpetual Curate ("P.C." in Venn) of Thornton-le-Dale. I have changed his introductory description to read clergyman, not curate.Cloptonson (talk) 21:23, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
Small Edit Made
[edit]I updated the expired link in the External Sources section to the current site but it is now purple, not blue like the other external links. I am new to editing so if anyone could explain what I did incorrectly, I would be grateful and will amend accordingly. Armond Dean (talk) 17:35, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
