Alright, this article, in its current incarnation, isn't quite up to Wikipedia's standards. But, since it's been nominated for "speedy-deletion" I've added-in the "hang-on"-template so as to formally request that the deletion of the article be postponed, at least for a little while. I am currently drafting a law review article on comparative health law, and the PMPRB would be important to learn about. After I'm done with my session of typing for the article tonight, I plan on creating at least a minimally acceptable article for the PMPRB on wikipeda myself. In the meantime... If you're working on an article in progress, then your best bet would be to create it in a user subpage. Unfortunately, once an actual article exists, it qualifies for Wikipedia's standards for Speedy Deletion. Rwiggum (^Talk/_Contrib) 22:08, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, in the meantime, what's say that you and I try to polish it up a bit so that it meets the relevant minimum threshold? I'm actually, quite serious, too. Patented Medicine Prices Review Board

In Canada, drugs that are still under patent and which yet have no generic substitutes are regulated by the federal Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB). This Board establishes the maximum prices that can be charged in Canada for patented drugs. The PMPRB has been credited with keeping average annual price increases for patented drugs at or below zero since 1992. In addition, Canadian drug price levels fell from 123 percent of the median drug price level for seven industrialized countries (France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States) in 1987 to 101 percent of the comparator median in 2002. During that same period, the average U.S. prices for patented drugs rose from 36 percent above to 67 percent above average Canadian prices.

Well, well, well. So... you thought there would be an article on the "Patented Medicine Prices Review Board" (better known as the PMPRB) right here, eh?

Well, I'm afraid there isn't. Which is a shame.

Frankly, it's damn important that a new article be created on the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board due to its critical role in Canadian public health and for the insights it might provide in designing pharmaceutical regulatory schemes in other countries.

But, by creating this smart-mouth placeholder here, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this page will get created and soon.

Administrators, please do not delete this article/placeholder. Instead, join me in finding a couple of good wikipedia editors that are informed as to public health regulation in Canada and elsewhere and whom could be expected to competently create the article. Yes, creating a placeholder-ish page like this one here is rather out of the ordinary, but after I did some reflection, it seemed to be a good way to expedite the creation of the article.
