Life
[edit]Pascual never married and had the house built for himself where he ran his business in saltpeter. He adopted his business partner and brother’s children and built a house for them adjoining his mansion. 38.105.15.109 (talk) 18:04, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
Museum
[edit]The first floor contains original artwork that Pascual Baburizza collected from Europe. Iron gates separate the public areas from the private area of his residence that are now open to the public, including his elaborate bathroom. The original furniture was sold by his adopted children after Baburizza’s death except for one round inlaid table made in Italy. The upstairs and children’s house display other artwork owned by the city of Valparaiso (“valley of paradise”). A pink fireplace, originally fueled by natural gas, is made from Italian “rosa amonita” stone that contains two well-preserved ammonite fossils. The home has been restored following several earthquakes that are prevalent in this region of Chile. 38.105.15.109 (talk) 18:18, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
