Since when is Siakam a Cameroonian-American? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:3B60:1C00:D42D:A166:A235:9E75 (talk) 23:45, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
Quoted nickname
[edit]@TrailBlzr: You unquoted Siakam's nickname, "Spicy P", with the edit summary Not when preceded by 'nicknamed' and written in bold. Per MOS:BOLD
. Which part of MOS:BOLD are you referring to? I see MOS:WORDSASWORDS, but this isn't a case of "Spicy P" being a synonymn. It's a nickname. In MOS:QUOTENAME, it shows the Al Capone and Jack Tatum examples with their nickname being presented separately, in quotes, and in bold. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 05:29, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- I can find countless examples of bolded nicknames without quotations, especially in articles about association footballers, but if you feel strongly about it, keep the quotations. It's not something I'm going to fight about. TrailBlzr (talk) 05:36, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- @TrailBlzr: Sure, there's always WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. I'm just following the guideline for consistency sake. If you found an MOS conflict, I'd just throw it back to the MOS people to hash out. I don't particularly care how it's done, I just do some braindead consistency formatting every now and then. I'll place it back. No harm, no foul. Cheers.—Bagumba (talk) 05:53, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
