Deletion History
[edit]This page has been deleted at least 13 different times. I'm not in favor of it being deleted. If, however, people do want to delete it - the name should be made into a redirect for the show, and at least some information about this person placed in the article. Numerous requests, and creations of the page indicate that people are looking for this information.

- The page was deleted before she returned and won Survivor: Micronesia. While the article requires a lot more information, it meets the notability criteria as set out by previous cases. -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 07:17, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Changed Info Boxes
[edit]I've noticed that in all the pages of Survivor contestants, the information boxes (I'm not sure what they're officially called) have been changed. Most noticeably, information about their past tribes is no longer included. I would like to know why, as I thought this was a quick way to access this information. TheTribeHasSpoken (talk) 06:05, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- The Survivor specific infobox was deleted at WP:TFD. I could dig up a link to the discussion if you can't find it (and are interested). Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 06:08, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- Here it is Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2010 October 11#Reality TV contestant infoboxes. It may be possible to create a new box that would hold this content, but it should not have any overlap with the general "person" infobox. A better idea would be to figure out if there is a good place in {{Infobox person}} where this information could be displayed. The good news is that the info is still there, it's just not being displayed. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 06:11, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Revert picture
[edit]Please revert the picture. The woman in the photo uploaded this herself for clout chasing purposes and it is a terrible picture for the subject, with a greater focus on the random woman who uploaded this.

- It's a good photo of Shallow, perhaps someone skilled could crop it to focus on just Shallow on Commons? Schazjmd (talk) 16:35, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Heartis24K:, could you explain why you reverted the image? The cropped version that shows just Shallow is more representative than a photo with two people in it. (See MOS:LEADIMAGE) Schazjmd (talk) 22:50, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
- This is my picture and you did not give me credit for the picture. Heartis24K (talk) 01:44, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

I have restored the previous photo to the infobox. There shouldn't be someone else other than the subject of the article in an infobox photo, as it represents undue weight. The photo with the fan can be presented somewhere else in the article. MPFitz1968 (talk) 04:40, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
- Per MOS:LEADIMAGE, the image should be reverted to the new, cropped photograph. The image of her at a Survivor event is a far more "
natural and appropriate representation
" of someone notable for being a Survivor castaway than an image of a triathlete. The dual-subject original version should not be used per WP:UNDUE. - The copyright holder of the original image uploaded the photo to Commons under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Cropping or otherwise remixing the image is allowed under that license so long as the terms are followed. Attribution is given at File:Parvati Shallow and Survivor fan (cropped).jpeg, as is a notice that it has been extracted from the original image. No other permission is needed from the copyright holder to use the cropped Creative Commons image on Wikipedia.

- Thank you for updating the photo with the proper credit. It looks great. Heartis24K (talk) 13:13, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for removing this photo -- it was entirely inappropriate and an awful photo to boot.

- My goodness, we can manipulate the original photo to be only her eyeball and it would be fair use as long as we tell the license and attribute it to Troy and/or Donna Kuretich is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. We extract a single person out of these images all the time. It should be cropped even more as it is too tall right now. Note - I cropped it more and made sure I gave credit to the original photo and owner. Fyunck(click) (talk) 06:24, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
