[edit]I'm thinking that this page reads a little too much like an advertisement ... --Aaron dub (talk) 17:45, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yep - it has been repeatedly edited by obvious COI editors. The Dissident Aggressor 21:10, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
- And they're continuing to remove templates - like
{{coi}}
. Suggestion: if you're affiliated with the act and/or label, please stop editing this article - you've made enough of a mess and obviously are not dealing with your conflict of interest well. Some of us are working hard to turn this in to something suitable for an encyclopedia. The Dissident Aggressor 18:45, 8 September 2014 (UTC)- Mark EtageNoir, Please stop removing the maintenance templates and reverting back to the more adverty version. There is clear consensus here that this article was written like an advertisement. I understand that with your WP:COI, you prefer have the adverty version, but that's just not acceptable for many reasons (consensus, policy, etc.). Please stop this disruption on this article. You don't WP:OWN it and at this point, I'm afraid that either an editing block or a topic ban may be needed here. I'd rather not pursue that route. The Dissident Aggressor 15:49, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- And they're continuing to remove templates - like
That's ok. I'm trying to edit all your points as good as possible.
My question is: What do I have to do to get rid of the warning labels? Or is that nothing I can do because my affiliation with Parov Stelar is too close? In that case. Is it ok to contact the original contributor. See I want to make everything exactly how it should be from your side. But please let me know what I have to do. Is it done if I edit the 3 questionable points you mention? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.114.172.87 (talk) 16:52, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
Birthdate Inconsistency
[edit]In the lede his birthday is given as Nov 27 while in the side box it is given as Jan 27. Which is correct? One of these needs to be corrected. — al-Shimoni (talk) 18:19, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Paris Swing Box
[edit]2x12" vinyl EP? I think it's not an album. source: itunes/discogs/my own reflections. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.231.203.255 (talk) 12:38, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Chevrolet 2013- Booty Swing
[edit]Somebody can add to the list of uses of "Booty Swing": It's also getting used in a Chevrolet Trax commercial that I just now (2013-03-26) saw on Canadian CTV, with a copy on Youtube over hnyah: "Le tout nouveau Chevrolet Trax - Le vrai aventurier des villes" (uploaded Mar 11, 2013, by Youtube user "ChevroletQuebec"). That Youtube video has French text and end-voiceover, but I saw the otherwise identical English version. —Sburke (talk) 21:41, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
An addendum: here's the English version of that Chevy Trax ad- video title "Chevrolet Trax | Midnight EN", uploaded by user "ChevroletCanada", Mar 13, 2013. —Sburke (talk) 21:54, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
COI editors / ownership
[edit]Look Mark, I realize that you feel that this is your page and don't want it changed. It's not - it's Wikipedia's page and it's dynamic. Please stop reverting the article back to old versions that you like.
Better yet, please stop editing it completely. It's clear that you're only here to promote this artist. If you want something added or changed, please discuss it here first.
Thank you. The Dissident Aggressor 22:23, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
exceptional claims of being Austria’s most successful international artist
[edit]I am moving the following quote here per WP:REDFLAG
He is Austria’s most successful international artist[1]
If more than one reliable source can support this then I think it can be re-added but exceptional claims like this require exceptional sources especially when being added by such a blatant editor with a conflict of interest and WP:SPA The Dissident Aggressor 22:38, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

exceptional claims of Parov Stelar being one of the pioneers of Electroswing
[edit]Here is a selected list of the sources i researched, that mention Parov Stelar as "one of the pioneers" or "the pioneer of electro swing":
"Parov Stelar and Emancipator" "Parov Stelar: Extravaganz als Genuss" "Parov Stelar zerstört Bruckner" "Parov Stelar" "The Pinoeer of Electro Swing: Parov Stelar" "Electro Swing Pinoeer Parov Stelar releases new album" "Parov Stelar Band" "Parov Stelar Band"
Sorry for removing your marks, i didn´t know, that one of you has to prove it first! Thanks a lot! (Katrin Weidhofer (talk) 06:50, 30 September 2014 (UTC))
Band Info + which sources of the article are not reliable?
[edit]I added information about the band and mentioned the festivals they played - do i need to add citations for the added infos or is it enough as I did?
further: there is a disclaimer about unreliable citations above this entry. can you please let me know which sources are deemed as "not reliable", so that i can exchange them? so that the info I added is not perceived as unreliable. I also tried to remove the passages -which i thought- sounded like advertising. Do my alterations improve the article? Because i don´t wanna waste time by making changes which do not eliminate the problems of the article. Obviously i would like that my changes have an effect.
Thanks a lot!!

- Dear Administrators, as i asked before, what do i have to do to get the banner removed? I would kindly ask for Help.
Thanks again!

Improving this article
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
I'd like to help improving this article and work on the correct Wikipedia encyclopaedic tone through working together with more experienced editors here on the talk page.
I'd like to identify parts that are written like an advertisement or that don't meet the notability guidelines and find a consensus to eventually remove those banners.
Thanks for helping improving this article.

Reply 12-DEC-2018
[edit]- I have reviewed the maintenance templates and have found two out of three are appropriately placed and still refer to current issues with the article; The third, general notability, should be handled by the editor who assigned it to determine if it is still needed.
- I will make the changes to the article to remove inappropriate tone. Consensus will then determine whether the labels should be removed.

Update 12-DEC-2018
[edit]- Changes have been made to the article. Pinging @Edwardx: to have a look and determine if any templates may be removed.
- To the COI editor @MarkusInCharge: Can you clarify whether or not you are the same editor as Mark EtageNoir? Please advise.
- Spintendo 04:42, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- To @Spintendo: Yes this is the same person, but we have studied the Wikipedia guidelines and would like to help improving everybody's work by using the the correct Wikipedia encyclopaedic tone and guidelines. MarkusInCharge (talk) 15:28, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you @Spintendo:. I think we could probably remove the tags, but we will have to keep watching the article to ensure that promotional and uncited content is not added again. Edwardx (talk) 01:45, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you Edwardx and thank you for your honesty MarkusInCharge. As Edwardx is OK with removing the template he added, I will remove that one and the other one which both immediately pertain to the changes I made yesterday:
{{advert}}
and{{tone}}
. The{{notability}}
template however should remain, as that seems to be about a different issue. So the only concern I have left is that unless this was part of a WP:CLEANSTART MarkusInCharge may or may not have the ability to make edit requests if they're a banned user, but I'm not sure. I would normally put this question to the admin who banned them, but that editor isn't currently active. So, with a random spin of the wheel I'll ping Alex Shih and see what they can say about requests from a banned user. The editor has been honest here and now with us, so would this be ok? Thanks for any info. Spintendo 17:12, 15 December 2018 (UTC)- Spintendo, Thank you for making edits in order to remove the templates
{{advert}}
and{{tone}}
. Also thanks to Edwardx. MarkusInCharge (talk) 11:41, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- Spintendo, Thank you for making edits in order to remove the templates
- Spintendo, thanks for the ping. On mobile now so I will expand later, from a quick look the user is technically evading the previous block; but since it's four years ago and they are striving to fix whatever that led to the block, I believe generally it's fine to let it go without community discussion, as it was not a ban. I will go through their edits later. Alex Shih (talk) 04:06, 16 December 2018 (UTC)

{{advert}}
and{{tone}}
. In order to remove the{{notability}}
template I would like to disclose that I work for a service agency for the music label Etage Noir. Etage Noir is the label of Parov Stelar. We do understand the mistakes we made with this Wikipedia page when we took over. We will stick to a non promotional tone from now on and will use citations for everything. Does it make sense to be discussing edits in question on the talk page before actually editing it? Let me know if there is anything else we need to do and thanks in advance for removing the{{notability}}
template. MarkusInCharge (talk) 12:04, 16 December 2018 (UTC)- @MarkusInCharge: Just a reminder, the changes I made to the article removed tone and advert language, a different problem than notability, which is more of an issue surrounding the number and quality of sources used. That's why the
{{notability}}
template remained. Spintendo 17:27, 16 December 2018 (UTC)- @Spintendo: I am in the process of working on the notability issue. Can someboday help out and let me know a bit more about sources? Which sources don't have the quality needed on this page? Thank you! MarkusInCharge (talk) 10:38, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hi everyone, I am working on the notability issue. Can somebody help out and let me know a bit more about that? Which sources don't have the quality needed on this page? Thank you very much! Mark MarkusInCharge (talk) 15:44, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
