Copied/plagiarized content

[edit]

A large block of text was added to the article, which I discovered was copied without attribution from a school document.[1] It was just restored, with this edit comment:

  • Accusation of source plagiarism was incorrect. Both the HOS search document and this article are largely from information found on the school website www.parishepiscopal.org [2]

Copying without attribution is plagiarism. Copying this much text, even with attribtion, is a copyright violation. Copying this much text from a single, partisan source, even if attributed and granted permission, still violates the requirement for neutrality. This is an example of non-neutral text:

  • Yet each is also encouraged to take risks, explore avenues of special interest, and combine studies with a healthy menu of extracurricular activities.... Although no one will ever be able to replace the current head of school, Gloria Snyder, Parish is eager to bring a new member into the community to better the school even further and create new traditions.

Language like that is appropriate for a school newsletter, but not for an encyclopedia article. I'm going to delete the text again, and I invite editors to write replacement text using their own words. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 17:37, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

School Logo is Incorrect

[edit]

The school logo displayed is incorrect. The Parish Episcopal School logo can be found on their website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Parishepiscopal (talkcontribs) 19:10, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
