Relatively recent lynching in Paris, Illinois
[edit]According to 100 Years of Lynching, by Ralph Ginzburg, (New York, Lancer Books,1962), Paris, Illinois was the site of what might be one of the most recent reported lynchings in the state of Illinois, and even in the nation. Reportedly on 12 October 1942, Edward Person was lynched in Paris, Illinois. I thought such a remarkable event would be included in the wikipedia page for Paris. Perhaps somebody might still have one of the postcards which were customarily kept as souvenirs by attendants of this type of events. It would be an inportant contribution to the documentation of the history of the town. Thanks. -- User:Setauket — Preceding unsigned comment added by Setauket (talk • contribs) 09:06, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
