2008 criticism

[edit]

This page seems very disorganised and uncoherent to me.

It's very strange to come to this page and find generative art in the first sentence of the general description - this seems seriously misplaced, as it amounts to starting by talking about a special - and, pace generative artists, obscure - case. Looks like an ill-thought-out insertion. 213.162.107.11 (talk) 19:58, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Now I've read the rest of the article, I find I agree with the first comment above - the one that says the page is disorganised and uncoherent, though I'd say incoherent. 213.162.107.11 (talk) 20:02, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have to agree, To both above statements. The page is very confusing and dosen't really answer anything, Well not what I was looking for. The page needs a more uniform structure and more examples. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.153.173.218 (talk) 17:24, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Domain of a function

[edit]

Today's rewrite casts the phrase in its popular as well as technical uses. On Planet Math the article "Statistical Model" is the target of redirect from Parameter Space. Since the phrase is very widely used in science apart from statistics, a broader outlook is in order. Editors should review parameter where a distinction is made from ordinary variable, somewhat closer to constant (mathematics). This distinction seems less applicable for this article given the general usage in science.Rgdboer (talk) 22:50, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mandelbrot set

[edit]

I hope I didn't misread the math, but to my knowledge this formula does not correspond to the Mandelbrot set. The Mandelbrot set includes all c that result in a bounded orbit, not only those where z converges to zero. The latter is true only for c located inside the "main bulb". --Allion (talk) 11:03, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I've replaced it. Mmitchell10 (talk) 12:49, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please define all symbols.

[edit]

This article leads with a quote from Ross 1990, where three undefined symbols are introduced out of context: p, theta-sub-1, and thea-sub-2. This quote will remain incomprehensible without definitions for these items. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.201.246.198 (talk) 18:14, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reference to hyperparameter optimization and machine learning

[edit]

IMO, it would make sense to link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperparameter_optimization as that is something, people might actually be looking for instead of parameter space — Preceding unsigned comment added by Helt cs (talkcontribs) 11:48, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
